Interlocking golf room subfloor tiles

Cushioned Subfloor That Asks, “You Gonna Swing or Nap?”

These thick 1.25" foam tiles fit together easily with an interlocking puzzle design—no tools, no stress, no sliding around mid-swing. They create a soft, stable subfloor that feels good underfoot and even helps “catch” the ball after impact.

Customizable Flooring Options

Start with the base: measure your space and pick your quantity of tiles to form the cushioned subfloor of your golf simulator. Add the optional tapered edge pieces and corner pieces for a clean, finished transition, especially if you’re laying turf on top.

How to Order

Step 1. Measure Your Floor Space

Start by measuring the area you want to cover.

  • Width (left to right, in inches)
  • Depth (front to back, in inches)

Step 2. Figure Out How Many Floor Tiles You Need

Check the floor tile dimensions below for measurements. Note how the interlocking puzzle pieces will change the overall width of your floor tile, and plan your layout accordingly.

Check out this floor tile calculator to help you calculate the number of boxes that you need to order.

*Double-check your measurements and consider any odd room dimensions, angles, or areas that require custom cuts. Remember to take into account the interlocking tabs and the space they take up. Carl's Place recommends ordering a little extra vs. exactly what you need.

Step 3. Tally Up How Many Edge Pieces You Need

Tapered Tall Edges
If you are searching for a more polished look, Carl's recommends the taller, tapered edge to hold the turf in neatly. Sold separately in packs of 6.

Make sure to order the right amount of each type. There are two types:

  1. Width edges (front and back of your space)
  2. Depth edges (left and right sides)

Step 4. Don’t Forget the Corner

  • Corner pieces come in packs of 4. Most setups only need 1 pack.
  • If your layout has inside corners (like a T- or L-shaped area), you can order extra, and cut the corner pieces to fit.

Tiles, then turf!

If you are planning on a subfloor system beneath your turf, Carl's Place recommends assembling your flooring tiles and edges prior to selecting your turf dimensions. Based on your specific subfloor dimensions, a 6" overlap is recommended on all sides to allow for cutting to fit, especially if finished edge pieces are in your plans.

Example Floor Tile and Edge Layout

Floor Tile area covered (no finished edge): 199.38" wide x 238.88" deep

  • 199.38" width = 5 tiles wide
  • 238.88" depth = 6 tiles deep

If you want edges around the entire perimeter of the floor, you need: 5 edges across the front + 5 across the back = 10 width edges. They come in packs of 6, so order 2 packs. 6 edges along the left + 6 along the right = 12 depth edges. Order 2 packs. 4 corners = 1 pack (4 per pack)

Floor Tile area covered (with finished edge): 207.25" wide x 246.75" deep

  • 207.25" width = 5 tiles wide + Edge Pieces
  • 246.75" depth = 6 tiles deep + Edge Pieces

Total Pieces Used:

  • 30 floor tiles
  • 12 total width edge pieces, use 10
  • 12 total depth edge pieces, use all 12
  • 4 total corner pieces

*Note: when calculating the above example subfloor area, the dimensions may vary slightly from what the final layout would be, due to the interlocking tabs. Please take that into account when measuring your space.

“Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented.”
